Frequently asked questions
Do I still need health insurance?
Yes. Concierge membership does not replace health insurance. Keep coverage for hospital care, specialists, emergency care, prescriptions, testing, and other covered services.
Will insurance pay the membership fee?
No. APG does not bill the membership fee to insurance. Medical services covered by your plan are billed separately.
Is Dr. Green limited to one hospital system for referrals?
No. APG is an independent physician practice. Dr. Green can consider qualified specialists and facilities across health systems, taking into account clinical expertise, your preferences, insurance participation, location, urgency, and appointment availability.
What is the best way to learn more?
Schedule a complimentary 15-minute Meet & Greet with Dr. Green. It is a simple, no-pressure conversation to ask questions and determine whether the program is right for you.

A better relationship with your doctor
APG Concierge Primary Care gives you a closer, more responsive relationship with Dr. Chris Green, a board-certified internal medicine physician who has cared for patients in the Alton community for more than 35 years.
Because Dr. Green cares for a limited number of members, he can devote more time and attention to each person. That means longer appointments, same- or next-day availability when medically appropriate and available, direct after-hours access for urgent concerns, and a personalized health plan focused not only on treating illness, but also on prevention, early detection, and long-term well-being.
APG is an independent physician practice—not a primary care office owned by a large hospital system. That independence gives Dr. Green the freedom to consider specialists and facilities across the region and recommend the option he believes best fits your medical needs, preferences, insurance coverage, location, and timing.
The difference is time—and what your doctor can do with it
In a traditional insurance-based practice, physicians often care for large patient panels and must fit many appointments into each day. Even excellent doctors may have limited time to explore your full history, connect symptoms, discuss lifestyle factors, or follow up as closely as they would like.
The concierge model gives Dr. Green the time and availability to practice medicine more personally. Your care can be more thoughtful, connected, and proactive because the relationship is built around you—not around a high-volume schedule.
Independent medicine means more choices for you
Large health systems offer important resources, but their primary care practices often operate within layers of a broad corporate network. Patients may find themselves navigating departments, centralized scheduling, standardized processes, and multiple points of contact.
APG is different. Dr. Green owns and directs his local practice, so you are known personally and his recommendations are not automatically confined to specialists, testing centers, or hospitals belonging to one system.
When you need specialty care, he can help identify the option best suited to your situation—whether that provider is affiliated with a large system, an independent group, or another respected organization. Clinical fit comes first, while your preferences, insurance network, travel distance, urgency, and appointment availability are also considered.
What your membership changes day-to-day
The value of concierge care is not a nicer waiting room or a membership card. It is a different working relationship with your physician—one that gives Dr. Green the time and flexibility to know you, respond, plan ahead, and stay involved.

Your physician relationship does not stop at a referral
When care involves specialists, testing, or a hospital, it is easy to feel as though no one is responsible for the whole picture. Dr. Green remains your primary-care point of reference—helping you understand recommendations, keeping important information connected, and making sure follow-up returns to a plan you understand.
Because APG is independent, coordination can cross hospital-system lines. The goal is not to avoid excellent hospital systems; it is to use the right resources from any appropriate system without allowing your care to become limited by one organization's boundaries.
Learn About Specialist and Hospital Care Coordination
Not a replacement for health insurance
Your membership fee supports the enhanced access, time, coordination, and non-covered wellness services that make this model possible. Dr. Green remains in network with APG-accepted insurance plans. Routine professional medical services covered by Medicare or your health plan continue to be billed to insurance, subject to your plan's copays, deductible, and coverage rules.
You should keep health insurance for specialist care, hospital services, prescriptions, imaging, emergencies, and other covered medical needs.

Membership investment
Members may choose the payment schedule that works best for them. The membership fee is separate from insurance premiums and charges for insurance-covered medical services.
Annual payment: One payment of $2,100 — the lowest total price
Quarterly option: Four payments of $600 — $2,400 total per year
Monthly option: Twelve payments of $220 — $2,640 total per year
The quarterly and monthly options provide the convenience of spreading payments across the year; they are not installment divisions of the $2,100 annual-payment price but include the external credit card processing fees and administrative costs.
