Meet Christopher Green, MD

Experience matters. So does the independence to put your interests first.

Meet Christopher Green, MD—an Alton physician who has spent more than 35 years caring for this community.

A trusted Alton physician for more than 35 years

Christopher Green, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician and Medical Director of Associated Physicians Group. For more than three decades, patients throughout the Alton area have trusted him to diagnose complex concerns, manage chronic conditions, and guide their health through every stage of adulthood.

Dr. Green earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1979 and completed his internship and residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His career has included leadership roles throughout the community, including President of the Alton Medical Society and medical director positions with local healthcare organizations.

Why he chose concierge primary care

Dr. Green created APG Concierge Primary Care to protect the most valuable parts of medicine: time, continuity, careful thinking, and a strong doctor-patient relationship.

By limiting the number of patients in his practice, he can be more available, spend longer in each visit, look more deeply at each patient's health, and follow through more closely over time.

He has also chosen to remain an independent practitioner. APG is not owned by a hospital system, so Dr. Green is not automatically limited to referring within one organization. When you need a specialist, test, procedure, or hospital-based service, he can consider qualified options across the region and recommend what he believes best fits your needs, preferences, insurance, location, and urgency.

His approach to your care

  • Listen first. Understand the whole person—not only the immediate symptom.

  • Look ahead. Use prevention and early detection to address risk before it becomes a crisis.

  • Make the plan personal. Build practical recommendations around your history, goals, lifestyle, and priorities.

  • Connect the pieces. Coordinate specialists, testing, medications, and follow-up so they make sense together.

  • Recommend independently. Consider specialists and facilities across health systems instead of defaulting to one corporate network.

  • Be available. Give patients the reassurance of reaching a physician who already knows their story.

“My goal is to give each patient the time, access, and personal attention I would want for my own family.” — Christopher Green, MD
