Both options are supported by the resources of Associated Physicians Group—an independent, locally directed medical practice that is not owned by a hospital system.
Traditional Insurance-Based Primary Care
APG’s insurance-based primary care team provides the familiar primary care model most patients already know. Office visits and covered medical services are billed through your health insurance and remain subject to your plan’s coverage, copays, and deductible.

APG Concierge Primary Care
For patients who want more time, access, continuity, and direct physician involvement, APG also offers Concierge Primary Care with Christopher Green, MD.
Dr. Green maintains a limited patient panel so he can provide longer appointments, same- or next-day access when medically appropriate and available, direct communication for urgent after-hours concerns, and a more proactive approach to prevention and long-term health planning.
Concierge Primary Care includes a separate membership fee. Insurance is still used for covered medical services, testing, specialist care, hospital care, prescriptions, and other covered needs.
The Independent Primary Care Advantage
APG is not a primary care office owned by a large hospital system.
Hospital systems provide many valuable services, but system-owned practices often operate within a large network of hospitals, specialists, testing centers, and centralized processes.
As an independent practice, APG can consider qualified specialists and facilities across the region. Recommendations can be based on your medical needs, insurance participation, preferences, location, urgency, and appointment availability—not simply ownership by one health system.
The objective is straightforward: help you find the right care for your situation and keep your primary care team involved along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is APG accepting new primary care patients?
Yes. However new-patient availability depends on the provider and location. Call our scheduling team for the latest availability in Alton, O’Fallon, and Edwardsville.
Does APG accept health insurance?
APG’s traditional primary care providers participate with all major insurance carriers Medicare and Tricare. Coverage and provider participation varies based on the credentialling process with certain carriers. Our new patient scheduling department can confirm benefits and network status for you before an appointment.
Can I choose my provider?
You may request a particular provider. Scheduling will depend on the provider’s location, availability, and whether that provider is appropriate for your healthcare needs.
Does Dr. Green see traditional insurance-based primary care patients?
No. Dr. Green’s personal patient care is now provided through APG Concierge Primary Care. However, he remains APG’s Medical Director and oversees the clinical direction of all APG primary care operations.
Do I need a concierge membership to see Dr. Morrison, Sarah Davis, or Mike Babinski?
No. These providers see patients through APG’s traditional insurance-based primary care model. No concierge membership fee is required.
Can APG help if I also have chronic pain or need physical therapy?
Yes. APG includes primary care, pain management, physical therapy, in-house lab draws, and X-ray services. Your primary care provider can help determine which services are appropriate and coordinate care within APG when possible.
How do I decide between insurance-based and concierge primary care?
The primary difference is the type of relationship and access you want. Insurance-based primary care follows the familiar appointment and insurance-billing model. Concierge Primary Care adds a separate membership that supports longer visits, more direct access, enhanced coordination, and a smaller patient panel.
